It seems that IPL Texas Bikini Athletes come in fuller, rounder, and generally more muscular than we see on other IPL stages.

Considering that, in the IPL, the fuller the better…these girls tend to really stand out. Note: Full is a good thing. However, Presentation (how you present all that fullness) plays a major part.

With the amazing looks coming out of Texas, I figured why not find out just how these stellar competitors are able to achieve what they have? Tips? Tricks? Advice?

I reached out to three such athletes who have achieved IPL Pro Bikini status. The following details some of their favorite exercises, diet strategies, advice, and planned returns to the IPL stage next. >>>

WHAT TWO EXERCISES ARE YOU THE STRONGEST IN, AND HOW HEAVY DO THE WEIGHTS GET WITH THESE EXERCISES?

I’m the strongest in Squats and Hip Thrusts. My max on squats is 185, and on hip thrusts is 275.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO BIKINI COMPETITORS WHO NEED TO, OR WANT TO ADD MORE FULLNESS TO THEIR PHYSIQUE?

Everybody’s body responds different, but these are some of the things that have worked best for me. I increase my protein consumption, and the only protein shake that I’ll put in my body that has worked for me is called Lean Shake by Xyngular. It’s a premium protein shake that is not full of fillers and additives. It has a full spectrum of essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and digestive enzymes. I also ensure that I take in plenty of good fat sources.

Rest is vital and getting plenty of sleep at night is equally important. Cardio is minimal for me, and I utilize several natural health/wellness products that allow me to maintain a lean waistline, but still add lean muscle to areas of my body that I focus on during my training. My workouts consist of mostly heavy weightlifting, with lower reps. Lastly, I keep my water intake at a gallon a day.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU, AND WHEN CAN WE EXPECT YOU BACK ON THE IPL STAGE?

I will be back on the stage next year for sure. I’ve enjoyed a little down time from the stage, but still working daily on improving my physique and bringing a better package to the IPL stage. My Pro debut in Bikini and Sports Model is what is next for me.

WHAT TWO EXERCISES ARE YOU THE STRONGEST IN, AND HOW HEAVY DO THE WEIGHTS GET WITH THESE EXERCISES?

Squats are one of my favorite workouts. I started squatting with 20lbs plates on the barbell. I am currently squatting a max of 205lbs to a below parallel box. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I can squat an amount of weight that is almost double my body weight. My other favorite workout is the pull up. This helps work my back and arm muscles. I aim to increase the reps and lift my body up higher with every rep.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO BIKINI COMPETITORS WHO NEED TO, OR WANT TO ADD MORE FULLNESS TO THEIR PHYSIQUE?

My advice for anyone wanting to do a bikini competition is to work your weak areas 3 to 4 days a week, varying intensity and load. Some days, add more weight for less reps, making sure you have the right form to prevent injuries. On other days, lighten the load and strengthen the weak area with reps, reps and more reps!!! Don’t forget to adjust your diet to suit your goals; be it building muscle or leaning out. Both these two processes require a different approach when it comes to diet.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU, AND WHEN CAN WE EXPECT YOU BACK ON THE IPL STAGE?

I’m planning to hit the stage in late March or early April, and qualifying for Apex III in November! My goal in the next IPL Bikini Competition is to bring an even better package on stage than I did in September 2017. I am always reminding myself that no matter what I do, I am in competition with myself; striving to be better every day. I am grateful to the IPL organization for giving me the opportunity to show case my hard work and in the process, meet other like-minded athletes.

WHAT TWO EXERCISES ARE YOU THE STRONGEST IN, AND HOW HEAVY DO THE WEIGHTS GET WITH THESE EXERCISES?

My two favorite exercises would have to be Box Squats on leg day and Seated Low Rows on back day. I usually try to change it up and do a heavy set, then transition into a light set. The most I’ve done on Box Squats is 245 pounds for 6 reps. For my Seated Low Rows it was 90 pounds for 8 reps.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO BIKINI COMPETITORS WHO NEED TO, OR WANT TO ADD MORE FULLNESS TO THEIR PHYSIQUE?

Adding size comes with making sure that you really have the mind, muscle connection. The more you’re contracting the muscle, the more it will grow! The most important thing when trying to put on size is patience. It does not come within one workout or in just a few workouts. It takes hard work and dedication. Not just in the gym, but also outside of the gym, and eating clean throughout your prep. And, when you do have a cheat meal, making sure it’s not the most fattening food but something that’s also going along with your meal plan.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU, AND WHEN CAN WE EXPECT YOU BACK ON THE IPL STAGE?

I am planning to make my PRO debut at the first upcoming IPL show of year, where I won my PRO Card! I am very excited to step back on the IPL stage as a Pro this time. Words cannot describe how overjoyed I am for this opportunity to share the stage with the other IPL Pros. If anyone is thinking about competing just DO IT!!! It is the best decision you could ever make with your fitness journey, whether you’re younger or older. This is a decision you will not regret! BIKINI
